29 Mar Croesus Named One of Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers (2016)
Montreal, Quebec, March 29, 2016 – Croesus has been named one of Canada’s best small and medium employers (SMEs) as part of the Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers competition organized by Mediacorp Canada Inc.
This competition highlights the efforts of SMEs to offer their employees exceptional workplaces and to establish innovative human resource policies. Employers are evaluated on the following criteria: (1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement.
Among other things, Croesus caught the jury’s attention with its creative young employee retention strategy of establishing a committee for employees under the age of 30. The mission of the “Gen Y” committee is to integrate, involve and motivate Croesus’ young professionals. Through monthly meetings, young workers are invited to collaborate and to develop special projects that could improve employees’ comfort, work methodologies, Croesus’ social life or any other projects close to their hearts. To support its younger staff members in their efforts, project management is done under the supervision of experienced mentors. Now entering its fourth year, Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers is an editorial competition that recognizes the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that offer the nation’s best workplaces and forward-thinking human resources policies. To determine eligibility, the editors adopted the SME definition used by Statistics Canada, limiting the competition to private-sector commercial organizations with under 500 employees.
