Croesus Named One of Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers (2016)

Montreal, Quebec, March 29, 2016 – Croesus has been named one of Canada’s best small and medium employers (SMEs) as part of the Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers competition organized by Mediacorp Canada Inc.

This competition highlights the efforts of SMEs to offer their employees exceptional workplaces and to establish innovative human resource policies. Employers are evaluated on the following criteria: (1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement.

Among other things, Croesus caught the jury’s attention with its creative young employee retention strategy of establishing a committee for employees under the age of 30. The mission of the “Gen Y” committee is to integrate, involve and motivate Croesus’ young professionals. Through monthly meetings, young workers are invited to collaborate and to develop special projects that could improve employees’ comfort, work methodologies, Croesus’ social life or any other projects close to their hearts. To support its younger staff members in their efforts, project management is done under the supervision of experienced mentors. “Since the very beginning, almost 30 years ago, we have always aspired to offer a pleasant and stimulating work environment to our employees and we have always done our best to ensure their self-fulfillment and well-being, as they are our greatest asset,” stated Croesus president, Mr. Rémy Therrien.

SMEs selected among Canada’s best small and medium employers are announced in a special magazine published nationally in the Globe and Mail. The detailed list of recipients, including the reasons for their selection is available on this website: http://canadastop100.com/sme/.
